Sogno Winery is located in the El Dorado AVA. The Davis Family purchased the property in 1998. The land was originally settled by the Hodgkins Family during the 1880s.

Sogno is Italian for “dream.” In the winery, gravity is used to move the wine rather than pumps to cause as little agitation as possible. A non-interventionist approach is taken to winemaking allowing the grapes’ varietal characteristics and the terroir of the vineyards to shine through.

Sogno produces 3 red blends including the 2002 Giocchino (Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot), 2003 Vermiglio (Syrah, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon), and 2004 Cameron’s Cuvee (Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, and Cinsault).

The winery also makes varietal wines including the 2003 Merlot, 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003 Barbera, 2002 El Dorado Syrah, 2002 Sierra Foothills Syrah, 2003 Primitivo, 2003 Sangiovese, 2003 Sierra Foothills Zinfandel, and 2003 El Dorado Zinfandel.

White wine production consists of Pinot Grigio, Viognier, and Chardonnay. Additionally, Sogno makes Port-style wine, Rosato di Sangiovese, several sweet white wines with Muscat, Muscat Canelli, Orange Muscat, Summer’s Gold (Orange Muscat), and a sweet White Zinfandel.
