Deerfield Ranch Winery

Deerfield Ranch Winery is located in the northern part of Sonoma Valley. In 1982, PJ and Robert Rex purchased their vineyards. They bonded their winemaking facilities in 1996.

Deerfield Ranch Winery sources fruit from 17 different vineyards. Production is currently about 8,000 cases a year, but the winery plans to expand to 25,000 in the future. Each wine is made in limited quantities; usually 250 to 1,000 cases.

Robert Rex and Michael Browne, of Kosta Browne Winery, are the winemakers at Deerfield Ranch Winery. They take a different approach to each of their wines, and are not constrained by convention.

Deerfield Ranch Winery’s 2002 vintage consisted of the Ladi’s Vineyard Syrah, Sonoma Valley Chardonnay, Russian River Valley Cohn Vineyard Pinot Noir, Napa Valley Trio Vineyard Meritage, Sauvignon Blanc, Bennett Valley Jemrose Vineyard Pinot Noir, and Super T-Rex (blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Dolcetto).
