Brophy Clark Cellars is a joint effort of John Clark and Kelley Brophy Clark. They found the winery in 1996. Ms. Brophy Clark received advance degrees in agricultural science with a specialization in viticulture. For several years, she worked in vineyard management and founded her own consulting firm. Mr. Clark has worked in the wine industry since the mid 1980s. The family lives in Nipomo and focuses on Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and Syrah.

Brophy Clark Cellars is a boutique winery, producing 2,500 cases a year. The couple tends to the winemaking process personally. Ms. Brophy Clark chooses each vineyard. Mr. Clark concentrates on each lot in order to bring out its unique character more fully. Several lines available are a 2009 Chardonnay, a 2009 blend of Rhone varietals and a 2009 Pinot Noir.

The Clarks focus on finding the best vineyards on the Central Coast. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes are sourced from the Garey Vineyard, which was planted by the Robert Mondavi winery and is located in the Santa Maria Valley. Syrah and Grenache grapes are selected from the Camp 4 Vineyard, located in the Santa Ynez Valley and planted by Fess Parker. Because of Brophy Clark Cellars limited production, enthusiasts are encouraged to join the wine club. A tasting room is maintained in downtown Los Olivos. A number of merchants also carry Brophy Clark wines.
