Soquel Vineyards announces Futures Program Releases
Santa Cruz Mountains’ Soquel vineyards announced the wine to be released to their Futures Program members.
Soquel Vineyards is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. They have a Futures Program for their loyal customers. The wines that this year’s Futures Program will feature include an Old Vine Zinfandel and two Pinot Noirs.
- 2006 Old Vine Zinfandel This Zinfandel is made from fruit grown in Ken Schmirer’s 106 year old vineyard. This history vineyard was planted by Mr. Schmirer’s grandfather, and produces less than one ton of fruit per acre. The 2006 vintage should not disappoint.
- 2006 Pinot Noir, Lester Vineyards, Santa Cruz Mountains Lester Vineyards is located in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. As a relatively small vineyard, only 32 barrels of Pinot Noir were produced.
2006 Pinot Noir, Muns Vineyards, Santa Cruz Mountains The Muns Vineyard is located 2,600 feet above sea level on the East Loma Prieta in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The 2006 vintage has three clones from this vineyard blended together. According to the winery, “It is dense and rich, carries many earth flavors and is packed with aromas of pomegranate, plums and cherries.”
