Roessler Cellars Releases 2004 Vintage
Sonoma Coast's Roessler Cellars releases 2004 Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.
Roessler Cellars has announced the release of several wines from the 2004 vintage. Roger Roessler owns a vineyard in the Sonoma Coast AVA named, “Ridges,” and also sources grapes from several other properties.
The 2004 Clos Pepe Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is one of the fuller-bodied wines that Roessler makes. It has assertive tannins that are balanced with nice acidity. With several years of age, this wine should develop very well. 138 cases were produced.
Roessler’s 2004 Alder Springs Mendocino Pinot Noir was aged in oak barrels for 16 months. This wine has flavors of black cherries and spice. On the palate, it has a lush texture. 300 cases were produced.
The 2004 Savoy Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is more fruit forward than the previous two selections. It is more a matter of plums than cherries, and also has dried herb and mint flavors. 307 cases were produced.
Roessler Cellars’ 2004 La Brisa Peay Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a spicy, earthy wine with tremendous depth. Acidity, tannins, and fruit flavors mingle very well in this wine. 97 cases were produced.
The 2004 Griffin’s Lair Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is from a cool vineyard located near the San Pablo Bay. This wine has aromas of cherries, earth, and tobacco. 223 cases of this wine were made.
The 2004 Alder Springs Mendocino Chardonnay has aromas of citrus, tropical fruits, and distinctive minerality. It has a nice amount of body from being barrel-aged, but is far from overwhelming. 306 cases were produced.
Roessler Cellars’ 2004 Clos Pepe Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay is a refreshing wine that pairs with food extremely well. It is notable for its vibrant fruit flavors that include sour citrus and green apples. 150 cases were produced.
