Mayacamas Vineyards Releases New Wines

Mount Veeder’s Mayacamas Vineyards releases their 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Pinot Noir.

Mayacamas Vineyards is located in the Mountain range that splits the Napa Valley from Sonoma. Their two Mount Veeder vineyards are located over 1800 feet above the valley floor. They have just released two new wines:

Mayacamas Vineyards 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon

  • The fruit used to make this wine was grown in the Mount Veeder AVA. Harvested in 2001, it was aged in Oak for 36 months. This wine is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. According to the Mayacamas Vineyards website, the optimum period for consumption if from 2015 to 2020.

Mayacamas Vineyards 2004 Pinot Noir

  • The fruit used in this wine came from vineyards in two Napa Valley AVAs, Mount Veeder and Coombsville. Harvested in 2004, it was aged for 24 months in French Oak Barrels and American Oak Casks. According to the Mayacamas Vineyards website, the optimum period for consumption if from now to 2012.
