Lucia Vineyards epitomizes the Central Coast winery. Making their home in Santa Lucia Highlands, they specialize in single vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. However, they also produce Syrah and a Rose of Pinot Noir. Here are their new releases.

2005 Lucia Pinot Noir, Garys’ Vineyard

  • Winery notes; “Deep, rich aromatics. The nose is dominated by strong floral notes woven around a core of baking spice and red, berry fruits. This wine is dense in the mouth and possesses much grip. The flavors are very expressive on the palate, and the wine finishes with firm tannins.”

2005 Lucia Pinot Noir, Santa Lucia Highlands

  • Winery notes; The experience begins with the crimson red color and bright aromatics lifting out of the glass. This is a pure expression of Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands: ripe flavors in elegant balance. The full-bodied wine has a strong focus towards its fine tannins and acid at the finish. Approachable now, these Pinot Noirs will also age very well.

2005 Lucia Chardonnay, Santa Lucia Highlands

  • Winery notes; This Chardonnay is very lively and fresh on the nose. It displays hints of Asian pear, white peach, melon and Meyer lemon zest. The palate has a full and coating texture that draws out the finish. The wine is balanced by a mineral-like acidity that cleanses the palate.

2006 Lucy Rosé of Pinot Noir

  • Winery notes; Aromatics are a mouth-watering display of wild strawberries, watermelon and crushed rose petals. Its delicate flavors dance across the palate, and its bright acidity proves very refreshing. This is a wonderful wine for many occasions. Serve chilled.
