Kosta Browne Releases new Wines
Russian River Valley’s Kosta Browne Winery releases two of their ten 2005 Pinot Noirs.
Kosta Browne just released a newsletter to their mailing list releasing two of their ten 2005 Pinot Noirs, a Syrah and a Rose. Winemaker Michael Browne started with over 60 lots of Pinot Noir to produce ten unique Pinot Noirs.
Kosta Browne uses fruit from their estate Russian River Vineyards; Amber Ridge, Koplen and Kanzler Vineyards. They also source Pinot grapes from some of California’s premier vineyards, including; Gary’s, Rosella’s, Keefer Ranch and Miron vineyard.
Michael Browne explains their winemaking philosophy; “Since each barrel is unique, the blending process is intense and time consuming. We take each lot and run trails, tasting and smelling numerous combinations of wine from different barrels. We repeat this process as many times as it takes to maximize the potential of each blend.”
Their production techniques obviously work, producing some of the best Pinot Noirs in California and arguably the world. Their new Pinot Noir releases include, 2005 Russian River and 2005 Sonoma Coast.
This year marks the release of their inaugural Syrah; the 2004 Amber Ridge Vineyard Syrah. The production of this wine was limited to 330 cases, so unfortunately, its limited to members of their mailing list.
Kosta Browne also released their 2006 Rose of Pinot Noir. Made from 100% free run juice, this wine was made to be enjoyed young. Because of this, it was bottled under screw caps.
- A blog post is coming that will explain how you can get your hands on Kosta Browne wines.
