Kendall-Jackson Named Winery of the Year

January 25th, 2007 – Lake County’s Kendall-Jackson Winery was named winery of the year yesterday at the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium.

KJ_leaf2 This prestigious award was given by Jon Fredrikson of Gromberg, Fredrikson & Associates in their State of the Industry address. In Fredrikson’s address, he pointed out that the wine industry is doing very well, selling more than 300,000 cases of wine. This was the first year that mark was passed.

Fredrikson explained how impressed he was with Kendall-Jackson, stating “They are probably one of the most successful wineries in the entire world in terms of profitability.”

Kendall-Jackson has received a great deal of acclaim for the new marketing strategy for their Vintners Reserve Chardonnay, repackaging it as a 100% estate grown wine. This, in conjunction with a $9 million dollar increase in revenue was enough for Fredrikson to give this years honors to Kendall-Jackson.
