Galante Vineyards Releases New Wines
Carmel Valley’s Galante Vineyards released four new wines, including two vineyard designate Cabs and their “Olive Hill” Petit Sirah.
The “Blackjack Pasture” is their signature wine made from cabernet sauvignon grown on a tiny 2.4 acre parcel. The yields from Blackjack pasture vineyard are very small, producing intensely colored small berried grapes. The 2003 vintage was aged in 100% new french oak. “This opulent and thick cab has currant and blackberry flavors with lush chocolate notes.” 500 Cases Produced – $60/bottle – $648/case
The Red Rose Hill vineyard is one of the orignial plantings on the estate, and is planted with 100% varietal Cabenet Sauvignon. “This vineyard is our most aromatic and sexy of our cabernet parcels and almost always shows rich powerful red fruits and an intense perfume.”
They only produced 200 cases of this vineyard designate Petit Sirah. “This beautiful, velvety smooth wine has an aroma of violets and rose with expressive flavors of bright black cherries and sweet vanilla. The soft tannins provide a wonderful structure and the acid levels accentuate the amazing depth of this wine.”
