Drew Winery Releases New Wines

Anderson Valley’s Drew Winery releases three new Pinot Noirs.

drew For a relatively new winery, Drew has made a name for producing premium quality Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley AVA. They just released three new Pinot Noirs to add to their collection:

Drew 2005 Fog Eater Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley

  • The Fog Eater Pinot Noir is made from fruit grown in the ‘Deep End’ of Anderson Valley between Philo and Navarro. As the name suggests, coastal fog strongly influences this wine. Cost: $35 per bottle.

Drew 2005 Pinot Noir, McDougall Vineyard, Sonoma Coast

  • McDougall Vineyard is a small, seven acre vineyard located in the ‘golden triangle’ of the Sonoma Coast. According to the winery, “the intensity and pedigree of this vineyard is hard to match.” This wine was aged in 50% new French Oak and 50% “seasoned” French Oak. Cost: $50 per bottle.

Drew 2005 Pinot Noir, Weir Vineyard, Yorkville Highlands

  • The Weir Vineyard is planted with very rare clones in California, including Domain Romanee Conti (DRC), Rochioli, Wadenswil (Swiss clone – 2A) and Pommard (UCD – 4). According to the winery, this wine “is complex and round with delicious mouth watering cherry fruits and a wonderful combination of plush tannins and acidity on the finish with varietal undertones of rose petals and hint of minerality and sweet earth.” Cost: $35 per bottle.
