Buena Vista Carneros Named One of the “Hottest” Small Brand of 2006

January 15th, 2007 – Carneros-Sonoma’s Buena Vista Winery named one of Wine Business Magazine’s hottest small brands of 2006.

Buena Vista Carneros is owned by one of the largest wine companies in the United State, Beam Wine Estates. However, Buena Vista Winery qualified for the “small brands” category by transitioning from 300,000 cases per year to just under 45,000. This move is one of the more drastic in recent history.

Early in 2006, Buena Vista released a series of two new wines from winemaker Jeff Stewart. Stewart has been with Beuna Vista since 2004, and all parties seem to be pleased with the results. One of these wines is the Buena Vista 2004 Carneros Syrah. It won a double gold at the 2006 California State Fair, and is a steal at $20 per bottle.
