Greystone

The CIA at Greystone is located in the St Helena AVA. It was established in 1995 Constructed in the 1880s, Greystone was one of the largest wine producers in California for many years. The Christian Brothers bought the property in 1940 and continued producing wine on the site.

In 1995, the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone was established. The CIA was founded in 1946 in New Haven Connecticut and specializes in education and career training in wine, food and hospitality. Greystone is their West Coast headquarters.

The Rudd Center for Professional Wine Studies and the Sutter Home Garden are also located on the property. The Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant is open to the public and is staffed by the culinary students. There are also many other events held at the historic building.
