Jim Parras has said in the past that Napa's climate is more similar to the Rhone Valley than it is to the Bordeaux and Burgundy regions. Fans of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay may find this counter intuitive, but the hilly, volcanic terrain of Paras Vineyard suits Syrah quite well.
