Yoakim Bridge Winery is owned by Virginia Morgan and David Cooper. Both have exceptional palates; Morgan graduated from the California Culinary Academy and Cooper is the winemaker. They use sustainable farming techniques in their vineyard and dry-farm their prized, 40 year old Zinfandel vines.
The 2002 Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel was produced from a particularly low-yielding vintage. This wine was aged in lightly toasted oak barrels and has dense, dark fruit flavors with hints of smoke and spice.
The winery’s 2001 Syrah was made with grapes grown on the exceptionally well-drained soils of the Eastern Dry Creek Valley benchlands. This is a concentrated wine that also displays some restraint, making it an excellent candidate for aging.
The 2000 Yoakim Bridge Three Valley Cuvee is a blend of Dry Creek Valley Merlot, Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and Russian River Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine has beautiful, enticing aromas and was made in a very food-friendly style.
