Vineyard 29

Mark as Favorite

Vineyard 29 is highly acclaimed for producing Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery recently built new production facilities and a network of caves. Vineyard 29 was founded Theresa Norton and Tom Paine. They initially came to the Napa Valley to retire.

However, when they discovered that the land they purchased was perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, they decided to put off retirement and pursue winemaking. Norton and Paine released their first vintage in 1992.

After a nearly a decade of noteable vintages, they decided to sell their vineyard to Chuck and Anne McMinn. The McMinns began constructing a winery and cellars on the property in 2000. Their magnificent and very modern 30,000 square foot winery is a great place to visit and taste the decadent wines produced by Vineyard 29. The 2002 vintage was the first made in this impressive facility.

Because of the small size of the vineyard, the McMinns realized that they were limited in the amount of wine they could produce. With this in mind, they purchased the acclaimed Adia Vineyard.

The Adia Vineyard is only two miles away from their original vineyard and winery, and it has very similar climate and soil conditions. This property produces Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The grapes from both vineyards are vinified at the McMinns’ state-of-the-art winery.
