Thornton Winery

Thornton Winery uses Old World techniques to produce still wines as well as sparkling wines using traditional methods. The winery is one of the oldest in the Temecula AVA, and began solely producing bubbly. In 1993, Thornton began making varietal still wines.

Located in the beautiful rolling hills of Temecula, Thornton Winery produces some excellent sparkling wine using the traditional methode champenoise. They are also one of the oldest wineries in Temecula.
Over the years, they have honed the art of blending their sparkling wines to produce delicate, buttery flavors. Thornton offers several different tours of the winery, and also has an excellent restaurant. Café Champagne provides a perfect venue for the ever popular Champagne Jazz series and special events.
Without question, Thornton’s flagship still wine is their Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is made from grapes sourced from the nearby Santa Rosa Mountains. They also produce several other reds including Merlot, old Vine Zinfandel, Nebbiolo, Syrah, and a Cab-Merlot blend.
Of Thornton’s white wine, their most popular is Sauvignon Blanc. Roussanne, Gewürztraminer, Moscato, Viognier, and Chardonnay are also made at the winery.
