In 1982, Roger and Carmen Stuhlmuller established Stuhlmuller Vineyards. Along with their son Fritz, the couple has made quite a name for themselves in California Wine Country. The property is currently planted with 150 acres of prized grapes on soils ranging from the hillsides to the valley floor.
The Stuhlmullers originally sold all of their grapes to other wineries. During the mid 1990s, Fritz began making wine under his family’s label. He completed the construction of his production facilities in 2000.
Leo Hansen is the winemaker at Stuhlmuller Vineyards. Originally from Denmark, Hansen is well-traveled and has worked in several wine regions throughout the world. Kerry Damskey of Palmeri is employed as the winemaking consultant. Along with producing his own wines, Mr. Damskey owns Terroirs, a company that assists with every step of the process from budburst to bottling.
The current releases produced by Stuhlmuller Vineyards include the 2004 Alexander Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Alexander Valley Zinfandel, 2004 Reserve Chardonnay, and 2005 Estate Chardonnay.
