Mark as Favorite

Storrs Winery is an ultra-premium producer of highly sought after mountain wines. Stephen and Pamela Bianchini-Storrs initially made 1,200 cases and have since raised production to 10,000 annual cases of wine.

Storrs Winery is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. Owners Stephen and Pamela Bianchini-Storrs both graduated from UC Davis and worked at other high-quality producers before starting their own venture in the hills of the Western San Francisco Bay Area.

Founded in 1988, Storrs initially produced 1,200 cases of Riesling which won accolades from critics and fellow winemakers. The winery currently makes 10,000 cases of Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, and a red Rhone blend.

The 2000 Riverview Vineyard Riesling was made with grapes grown on a hillside vineyard in the Salinas Valley. The region’s cool breezy climate and unfertile soils kept yields between 3 and 4 tons per acre. This wine has a touch of residual sugar which goes well the Riesling grape’s naturally high acidity.

The 2001 Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay was made from 3 different vineyards in the AVA. Each property has very different characteristics and the grapes were grown using different vineyard management techniques. The result is a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.
