Stonestreet Winery

In 1989, Jess Jackson established Stonestreet Winery in the southern part of the Alexander Valley AVA. In 1995, Jackson purchased Alexander Mountain Estate and merged the two properties. Stonestreet now specializes in mountain wines.

Stonestreet Winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery uses natural yeasts for fermentation and eschews filtering. Winemaker Graham Weerts previously worked for Bellingham Winery in Cape Town, South Africa.
The 2001 Christopher’s Cabernet Sauvignon is made with grapes from Alexander Mountain Estate. It has substantial tannins that will mellow with a few more years of age. This wine was aged in 85% new French oak barrels for 17 months before bottling. 175 cases were produced.
The vines that produced the Stonestreet 2001 Upper Barn Chardonnay were planted on Alexander Mountain Estate in 1982. This wine was aged in 50% new French oak barrels for 14 months. 234 cases were produced.
Stonestreet makes a number of other wines including the 2002 Alexander Valley Merlot, 2003 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Alexander Valley Chardonnay, and the 2001 Black Cougar Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon.
