The Stanton Family has been growing grapes in the Napa Valley since 1947, but did not make their first commercial wine until 1999. Stanton Vineyards owns several properties that are planted with about 75 acres of grapes.

Stanton Vineyards produces wine with grapes from their Oakville and St Helena vineyards. Winemaker Dave Phinney’s current releases include Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Stanton is not just in the business of making wine; they also sell grapes to some prestigious Napa wineries. Their 33 acre Oakville vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. They also own two vineyards in St Helena.

Stanton’s St Helena property on Mills Lane is planted with 20 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Petite Sirah. The 22 acre JB Ranch grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Mourvedre, and Petite Sirah.

The 2004 Petite Sirah is predominantly made with grapes from Mills Lane and JB Ranch. This wine also contains 15% Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville. The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is 93% Cab from Oakville and 7% Petit Verdot from Mills Lane. Both are excellent, full bodied wines.
