In the late 1970s, Ron and Diane Miller fulfilled a life long dream by purchasing a vineyard in the beautiful Napa Valley. For the first few years they sold their grapes to other wineries. Encouraged by the quality of their grapes, the Millers established Silverado Vineyards in 1981.

Located on a breathtaking bluff in the Stags Leap wine region, Silverado Vineyards produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Silverado is the name of an abandoned silver mine on Mount St Helena that was the home of Robert Louis Stevenson during the late 19th century.

Ron and Diane Miller farm 7 different properties in the Napa Valley. In addition to their estate Stags Leap vineyard, they also own Miller Vineyard in Yountville, 2 Carneros vineyards, 2 properties on Atlas Peak, and vines on Mount George east of the town of Napa.

Jonathon Emmerich is the winemaker at Silverado. He graduated from UC Davis and worked in France and at Sebastiani before joining the winery in 1990. Emmerich is known for his high quality, yet affordable Napa Valley wines.
