Russian Hill Estate specializes in Syrah and Pinot Noir from Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley AVA. In 1997, the winery was founded by husband and wife Edward Gomez and Ellen Mack.

Before establishing Russian Hill, Edward Gomez worked in medical research for many years. He takes a keen technical interest in all aspects of the wine production process. Ellen Mack is involved in marketing, accounting, and vineyard management for the winery.

Winemaker Patrick Melley produces several estate wines and also sources fruit from other grape growers. He is quite accomplished at crafting several varietals such as Syrah, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay.

Russian Hill’s current releases include the 2002 Winter Oaks Summit Syrah, 2003 Russian River Valley Syrah, 2003 Top Block Syrah, 2003 Ellen’s Top Block Syrah, 2004 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2004 Leras Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2004 Tara Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2004 Meredith Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2004 Gail Ann’s Vineyard Chardonnay, and 2005 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
