Owned by Lancaster Estate, Roth Winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon from Lancaster’s estate vineyards in the southwestern part of the Alexander Valley AVA. Both labels are made at the same production facilities.

Roth Winery is, “dedicated to crafting Cabernet Sauvignon that is reflective of its origins.” Winemaker Jennifer Higgins works closely with consulting winemaker David Ramey of Chateau Petrus fame.

In 1995, Tom Prentice left Screaming Eagle and took the job of vineyard manager for Lancaster Estate. He replanted much of the property with carefully selected rootstocks and cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon. Five years later, the team at Roth Winery produced their first vintage- a 2000 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2003 Roth Cabernet Sauvignon was blended with 17% Merlot to fill out the mid-palate. This wine fermented with its natural yeasts, and was aged in 100% French oak barrels for 19 months. 5,300 cases were produced.
