Reynolds Family Winery is located on the eastern side of Silverado Trail in the southern part of the Stags Leap AVA. Before establishing his winery, Steve Reynolds worked as a dentist. Along with wife Suzie, he began planting wines in 1994.
The winery currently produces 7 different wines with Bordeaux and Burgundy grapes. These include a Reserve Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Russian River Pinot Noir, Carneros Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay, and a red blend called Persistence.
The 2003 Merlot was made with grapes from Annapurna Vineyard in the Stags Leap AVA. It was aged in 30% new oak barrels for 18 months before bottling. At 13.5%, the alcohol is moderate. 300 cases of this wine were produced.
The 2003 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a 100% varietal wine that will likely develop complexity in the bottle for the next decade. It was aged in 45% new oak and 55% neutral oak for 18 months. 530 cases were made.
