Renteria Wines is a premium wine label that is owned and operated by famed vineyard manager, Oscar Renteria, and his family. They are currently constructing production facilities on Mount Veeder, and expect 2007 to be their first crush.

Oscar’s father, Salvador, originally moved to the Napa Valley in 1962 to work for Silverado Vineyards in Stags Leap. His is a true American success story. Beginning as a farm laborer, he rose through the ranks to become vineyard manager.

During the renaissance of Napa Valley’s wine industry, Salvador worked for several famous properties including Beaulieu Vineyard, Cuvaison, and Clos Pegase. He initiated many vineyard management innovations in canopy management and trellising. After many years of honing his skills, Salvador started his own company, Renteria Vineyard Management, in 1987.

Oscar Renteria took over the family business in 1993, and has built on his father’s legacy for meticulous attention to detail. With his extensive viticultural knowledge of Napa Valley, it was only a matter of time before he started making his own wines under the Renteria label.

Current releases include the 2002 Q Hill Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 Knittel Vineyard Pinot Noir, and 2004 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The Renteria Family also produces wines under the Salva Tierra and Tres Perlas labels. Additionally, Oscar and partner Steve Reynolds own Naughty Cellars.
