Provenance Vineyards is located in the heart of Cab country on Highway 29. Their first vintage was the 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2001, Provenance expanded their production to include a single vineyard Merlot.
The same year, Provenance acquired the production facility previously known as Chateau Beaucanon. They refurbished the building and built a gorgeous tasting room. The floor of the winery is made from the staves of used barrels.
The winemaking team at Provenance, led by Tom Rinaldi, has been an integral part of the winery’s success. Rinaldi’s philosophy is a non-invasive approach that lets the grape’s natural flavors come through in the finished wine. Provenance owns vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville and Mount Veeder. In 2003, the winery released a very nice Sauvignon Blanc.
