Pisoni Vineyard is best described as a Pinot Noir laboratory. Their search for excellence is embodied in the single wine they produce. Owner Gary Pisoni has received countless accolades over the years.

Located high above the Salinas Valley Floor, Pisoni Vineyard is about as close as you can get to perfection in the New World. At the southern end of the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, Pisoni grows some of the best Pinot Noir in California. The Pisoni Family has been growing these varietals for over 20 years.

Their 45 acre vineyard is planted with small blocks of intelligently selected clones of Burgundian varietals. Coastal fog creeps up through the valley, and contributes to the cool mornings and nights that Pinot Noir and Chardonnay love. The day time climate of the growing season is dominated by almost uninterrupted sun exposure.

For the first 15 years of operations, the Pisoni Family sold all of their fruit to other wineries. In 1998, they decided to start producing their own wines with the release of the Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Pisoni Vineyard. For years they have been regarded as one of the best vineyards in California, and now they are also seen as one of the best wineries.

Because Pisoni Vineyard only produces one wine, they are able to concentrate all of their efforts into it. Their Estate Pinot Noir is arguably one of the best examples of this varietal in the world. Pisoni Vineyard is known as one of America’s five Grand Crus.
