Peter Michael Winery was founded in 1982 in the Knights Valley AVA. The vineyards are grown in the foothills below Mount St. Helena. Luc Morlet is the winemaker and Javiar Avina is the vineyard manager.

Balance is key to Peter Michael’s wine production. Every wine is either designated as a single vineyard or a premium blend selected by the winemaker. French oak is used during the aging process.

Peter Michael Winery makes several wines using Burgundy and Bordeaux varietals. They currently produce 6 Chardonnays from distinct parts of their property. The Point Rouge is a blend of the best barrels of a particular vintage. In 2003, they blended the top 14 barrels out of a total of 360 for the year. This is an exceptional wine that is only available if you are on their mailing list.

Peter Michael also produces two excellent Bordeaux blends and a Pinot Noir. The Les Pavots Estate Cabernet Sauvignon uses a blend of the best Cab, Merlot and Cab Franc from their Les Pavots Vineyard. The excellent 2002 vintage is currently available.
