Pendleton Estate

Mark as Favorite

In 2005, Michall and Jeannine Pendleton established Pendleton Estate in the northwestern part of the Alexander Valley wine region. The vines are planted on hillside slopes at about 2,000 feet above sea level.

Pendleton Estate is a new winery that is already made quite a name for itself. Owners Michall and Jeannine Pendleton produce a small amount of handcrafted wine with grapes sourced from several California AVAs.

The 2004 Celebration Cuvee is a blend of 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Alvarelhao, 20% Touriga, 13% Sangiovese, 9% Zinfandel, 5% Petite Sirah, and 5% Carignane. The Alvarelhao and Touriga were sourced from Lodi, while the other grapes were grown in Sonoma County.

Pendleton Estate blends their Zinfandel with Petite Sirah and vice versa. These two full-bodied grapes naturally complement each other. The 2005 Russian River Valley Ponzo Vineyard Zinfandel is blended with 23% Petite Sirah and the 2005 Petite Sirah is blended with 14% Zinfandel.

The 2004 Bernier’s Vineyard Zinfandel is made with grapes from the Dry Creek Valley AVA. This wine is a blend of 75% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah, 10% Carignane, and 5% Mourvedre.
