Pena Ridge produces estate wines from Piccetti Family Vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley AVA. The winery’s 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon won a Double Gold in the 2007 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

Pena Ridge makes handcrafted wines from meticulously tended vineyards grown on well-drained, hillside soils. Piccetti Family Vineyards is located at about 900 feet above sea level on the northeast facing slopes of Bradford Mountain. These vines consist of 15 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, 3 acres of Zinfandel, and 2 acres of Syrah. At 3-4 tons per acre, yields are quite low and carefully controlled.

The 2000 Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Mountainside Estate was made from the Rocks and the Terraces vineyard blocks. This wine was aged in 66% new French oak barrels for 22 months. 420 cases were produced.

The Pena Ridge 2001 Dry Creek Zinfandel Mountainside Estate was made from the Barn and the Lanes vineyard blocks. Grapes from the Lanes vineyard block gives this wine its deep, rich color and distinctive earthiness. Fruit from the Barn vineyard block contributes red fruit flavors and finesse to this blend.

Pena Ridge’s 2002 Dry Creek Syrah Mountainside Syrah was made from the Hill and Barn vineyard blocks. This wine was aged in 60% new French oak for 16 months. Only 76 cases were made.
