Peay Vineyards

Mark as Favorite

Peay Vineyards produces wine from the coastal part of Sonoma County. After a long search, proprietors Nick Peay, Andy Peay, and Vanessa Wong found an ideal piece of property for their vinous aspirations.

Region: Sonoma County
Sub Region: Sonoma Coast

Peay Vineyards produces Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Viognier, and a Roussanne/Marsanne blend.

All of the wines are made with grapes grown on a 48 acre estate that is composed of south-facing, hillside vines. The land is planted with 33 acres of Pinot Noir, 8 acres of Syrah, 5 acres of Chardonnay, .8 acres of Viognier, .4 acres of Roussanne, and .2 acres of Marsanne.

In addition to producing estate wines, Peay Vineyards also sells some of their grapes to the highly esteemed Williams Selyem Winery and Failla Winery. Nick Peay has a degree from UC Davis and is the vineyard manager for the venture. Andy Peay takes care of sales and marketing.

Vanessa Wong is the winemaker and previously worked for Peter Michael Winery, Franciscan Oakville Estates, Domaine Jean Gros (Vosne-Romanee), and Chateau Lafite-Rothschild (Pauillac). She makes Pinot Noir in with moderate alcohol levels that are a nice change from many contemporary producers. 575 cases were made of the Peay 2004 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
