Kerry Damskey is the winemaker at Palmeri. He also owns a consulting company named Terroirs which helps other winemakers throughout the entire grape growing and wine producing process. Because of his executive experience, Damskey is also in the position to assist with organizational tasks.
Palmeri buys Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from Stagecoach Vineyard located in the hills just east of the Oakville AVA in Central Napa Valley. The winery also sources Syrah from Van Ness Vineyard. This property sits at 1,200 feet above sea level in the Alexander Valley AVA.
The 2002 Palmeri Stagecoach was made with 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Syrah. This wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 18 months. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend beautifully in this vintage. 340 cases were produced.
Palmeri’s 2003 Van Ness Vineyard Syrah is blended with 2% Cabernet Sauvignon from Stagecoach Vineyard. This wine was aged in 50% new French oak barrels from the Nevers Forest. 220 cases were made.
