Outpost Wines is located in the northeastern hills of the Napa Valley AVA. The vineyard sits at 2,100 feet above sea level on Howell Mountain. Outpost’s Zinfandel is particularly acclaimed.
The 42 acre estate vineyard is grown on western facing hillsides that are exposed to warm afternoon sun and regular breezes that moderate temperatures and reduce humidity. Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Grenache are planted in red volcanic soil that is well drained and unfertile.
All of the grapes are organically farmed and grown on the estate. They produce powerful, flavorful wines that represent the mountain terroir well.
Outpost Wines are sold in a limited number of restaurants in Napa Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. These include Coles Chop House in Napa, Bouchon in Yountville, Martini House in St Helena, Boulevard in San Francisco, Plump Jack Café in San Francisco, and Zibibbb in Palo Alto.
