Oliver Caldwell Cellars
Oliver Caldwell Cellars is located on Highway 29 just north of the town of St Helena. Oliver and Karen Caldwell bought Aida Vineyard in 1996. They hired David Abreu to manage the Zinfandel and Petite Sirah vines.
After producing a few vintages from Aida Vineyard, the Caldwells sold Aida Vineyard to Chuck and Anne McMinn in 2001. The McMinns are the owners of Vineyard 29, another premium St Helena winery.
After the sale of Aida, Oliver Caldwell Cellars began producing their winery’s flagship wine called “Esedra.” The 2000 vintage is made with grapes from Bella Vista Vineyard in Calistoga, Beckstoffer Vineyards in Calistoga as well, and Vybony Vineyard in Oakville.
Tom Eddy is the winemaker at Oliver Caldwell Cellars and Russian painter Ilya Zomb creates the artwork for Esedra’s labels. Only 212 cases of the 2000 Esedra were produced.
