Oakford Vineyards is located in the western hills of the Oakville AVA. David Abreu grows 5.5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 1 acre of Merlot on terraces cut into the steep hillside. The property is above the summertime, morning fog that is regularly on the valley floor.
The 2000 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon was made with 4 tons of grapes from Oakford’s estate vineyard and two tons from To Kalon just down the road.
Marco DiGiulio made the 2001 Oakford Cabernet Sauvignon with grapes from Oakville Beckstoffer Vineyard and To Kalon Vineyard. Oakford also made a Cab from Rutherford Beckstoffer Vineyard.
