Mosaic Vineyards

Mark as Favorite

Mosaic Vineyards is located on Highway 128 southeast of the town of Geyserville in Northern Sonoma County. The winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and a Red Meritage.

Tom Fuchs and Bill McCardell established Mosaic Vineyards just a few years ago when they purchased deLorimier Winery. Fuchs and McCardell hired a very experienced winemaking team to craft their Alexander Valley vintages. In the vineyard, they aim to grow balanced grapes that express the terroir of the land.

The 2004 Sauvignon Blanc has citrus and melon aromas with grapefruit flavors. This is a very refreshing wine. Mosaic also makes a Reserve Sauvignon Blanc that is blended with some Semillon for weight and flavor balance.

The 2002 Red Meritage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Malbec. It has berry, coffee, and chocolate flavors that will likely develop with age for several years. Additionally, the winery makes a small amount of single varietal Malbec.

The 2005 Mosaic Russian River Valley Francis Vineyard Zinfandel is a big, jammy Zin with ripe cherry flavors. The tannins in this wine are very subdued, but it has high flavor concentration and moderately high alcohol which gives it a lot of weight on the palate.
