In 1982, Dan and Donna Lee established Morgan Winery in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. Winemaker Gianni Abate produces Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc.

Morgan Winery vinifies a combination of estate grown and purchased grapes from the Santa Lucia Highlands, Arroyo Seco, and Mendocino AVAs. The winery currently produces about 45,000 cases of wine a year.
Dan and Donna Lee own Double L Vineyard which they farm organically. This 67 acre property is planted with 26 acres of Pinot Noir, 18 acres of Chardonnay, and 1 acre of Syrah.
Morgan’s “Classic Wines” include the 2005 Monterey Sauvignon Blanc, 2005 Highland Chardonnay, 2004 Monterey Syrah, 2005 Twelve Clones Pinot Noir, and 2005 Cotes du Crows (blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache). Winemaker Gianni Abate also makes a Reserve blend of the best Syrah barrels named 2003 Tierra Mar Syrah.
But it is the winery’s single vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays that have really brought Morgan fame. Available releases include the 2005 Double L Chardonnay, 2004 Hat Trick Chardonnay, 2005 Rosella’s Chardonnay, 2005 Tondre’s Pinot Noir, 2005 Double L Pinot Noir, 2005 Garys’ Pinot Noir, and 2005 Rosella’s Pinot Noir.
