Miramonte Winery believes that Temecula Valley will soon undergo a major transformation towards producing Rhone varietals. In late 2002, Miramonte’s Estate Vineyard was almost entirely replanted with Syrah. In future years, they hope to produce Syrah that can compete with any in California Wine Country.
Right now, the winery produces an array of wines, the most popular being their Bordeaux blends. They produce less than 1,000 cases of each of their wines.
The Miramonte Opulente is a red Bordeaux blend that is mainly Cabernet Sauvignon. It uses grapes from clone 337; the same one planted in Opus One’s vineyards.
Miramonte also produces a Rhone blend called Red Rhapsody, an old vine Zinfandel and a Syrah. Their whites include Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, a blend of these two grapes, and a couple of sparkling wines.
