Miner Family Vineyards is located on Silverado Trail in the eastern hills of the Oakville AVA. While the tasting is right off the road, 80 acres of vines are grown high above the Napa Valley floor at an elevation of about 1,000 feet above sea level.
This estate property is known as Oakville Ranch Vineyard. It is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Chardonnay. These sunny, hillside slopes are perfect for ripening the classic Bordeaux and Rhone varietals.
Miner Family also sources grapes from several other properties throughout California. They buy Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah from Stagecoach Vineyard in the eastern hills of Napa. They also purchase Sangiovese and Rosato from Gibson Ranch in Mendocino.
But the most prized grapes Miner Family sources are from the Santa Lucia Highlands. They are on the short list of wineries that buy Pinot Noir from the truly phenomenal Garys’ Vineyard and Rosella’s Vineyard. It is no easy task to acquire this fruit.
