Michael David Vineyards specializes in Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Rhone varietals. The winery recently released produced 600 cases of a Cabernet Sauvignon called “Rapture” which sells for $59 a bottle. This is the first time a Lodi wine has broken the $50 price point.

The winery is owned by brothers Michael and David Phillips. Their Great Great Grandfather, Andrew Harshner, originally settled in Lodi during the 1860s. Adam Mettler and Frank Lambert are the winemakers for the label. They are both young, dynamic professionals who have made quite a name for themselves in California Wine Country.

Mettler and Lambert produce several wines under the Michael David Vineyards label including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Symphony, and Maley Vineyard Zinfandel. The winery also makes the Windmill Estate Wines consisting of Chardonnay, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Old Vine Zinfandel.

In addition to these wines, Michael David makes 7 Deadly Zins, 7 Heavenly Chards, 6th Sense Syrah, Incognito, Earthquake, Don’s Lodi Red, and Sparkling Duet.
