The vineyards at Maurice Car’rie Winery were planted in 1968 and the production facilities were built in 1986. Mr. Car’rie was one of Temecula’s original vintners and made a name for himself growing Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Merlot.
The Linns currently produce wines with 14 different varietals all grown on their estate. They recently began making sparkling wine and Pinot Noir. All of these wines can be sampled at their tasting room along with vintages from VR La Cereza which the Linns also own.
Winemaker Gus Vizgirda produces about 30,000 cases of wine a year. These include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Heather’s Mist (non vintage white blend), Riesling, Sherry, Muscat Canelli, Muscat of Alexandria, Summer’s End (desert wine), Sara Bell (Cabernet Sauvignon Blush), White Zinfandel, Collage (red blend), Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah, and sparkling wine.
Along with the vineyards and winery, the Plantation House Restaurant is also located on the property. The restaurant specializes in Hawaiian and Southern Californian food and can be reserved for corporate events, weddings, and other events.
