Marilyn Remark Winery is owned by the husband and wife team of Joel Burnstein and Marilyn Remark. In 2001, the couple traveled to France’s Rhone Valley and were captivated by the wines they tasted.
Prior to establishing the winery, Mr. Burnstein worked as a trader at the Pacific Stock Exchange. His winemaking philosophy is simple yet profound: “1) Get great grapes. 2) Don’t screw it up.” He makes less than 2,000 cases of wine a year, and is involved in all aspects of production.
Marilyn Remark Winery’s current releases include the 2004 Arroyo Loma Syrah, 2004 Road’s End Petite Sirah, 2004 Wild Horse Road Grenache, 2005 Rose de Saignee, 2005 Loma Pacific Marsanne, and 2005 Lockwood Valley Vineyard Roussanne. Burnstein and Remark recently opened a beautiful tasting room in the Santa Lucia Highlands.
