Lewis Cellars is a small, family owned and operated winery in the Oak Knoll AVA. Each year, Randy and Debbie Lewis produce 8,500 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay. The winery sources its red grapes from Oakville, Rutherford, St Helena, and Calistoga, and Chardonnay from Carneros, Oak Knoll, and Russian River Valley.
The 2004 Lewis Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon was made with grapes from St Helena’s Pritchard Hill, Rutherford, and Calistoga. This wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels. 1,600 cases were produced.
The 2004 Merlot is a single vineyard wine from Pritchard Hill. Only 150 cases of this wine were produced. The 2004 Syrah is also a single vineyard wine made in very limited quantities with grapes from Pritchard Hill.
Lewis Cellars’ 2005 Sonoma Chardonnay is made with fruit sourced from Dutton and Ritchie Vineyards in the Russian River Valley AVA. It has citrus and apricots flavors with noticeable oak. 2,100 cases of this wine were produced.
The winery’s 2005 Napa Valley Chardonnay was made with grapes grown in the Carneros and Oak Knoll AVAs. It was whole cluster pressed, fermented, and aged sur lies in French oak for 11 months. Only 250 cases of this wine were produced.
