Latcham Vineyards

Mark as Favorite

In 1981, Latcham Vineyards was established in the Fair Play wine region. Until 1990, Joe and Margaret Latcham sold the majority of their grapes to Granite Springs Winery.

Region: Sierra Foothills
Sub Region: Fair Play
Wine: View all wines

Jon and Margaret Latcham planted their vines in 1981 and for several years sold most of their grapes to Granite Springs Winery. They were known for their intense, deeply concentrated grapes.

In 1990, the Latchams decided to use some of their fruit to begin making their own wines. When I think of Sierra Foothills wine, the production of Latcham Vineyards immediately comes to mind. They produce very powerful wines that have remarkably balanced components for their strength.

Latcham produces many wines, including Zinfandel, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Port. Their Signature Series includes Petite Sirah and Special Reserve Zinfandel. These wines are particularly distinguished and are immensely flavorful. Their Port is rustic and delicious.
