Larson Family Winery

Mark as Favorite

The Larson Family has owned their property since the late 19th century. But it was not until 1977 that Bob Larson planted his first 40 acres of Chardonnay. He currently owns 70 acres or vines.

Over the years, the property that Larson Family Winery is located on has gone through many changes. First it was a busy port, then a rodeo, and now a winery. The Larson Family produces several premium wines. Initially, the Larson Family produced wine for themselves and their friends, but after several successful vintages they decided to “get serious.”

In 1984, Bob Larson’s son, Tom earned his degree in Fermentation Science from UC Davis, and began his career in winemaking. The same year, the family released their first vintage under the Sonoma Creek label. A few years later, the Larson Family Winery brand was born.

The Larson Family has not forgotten their roots, and their tasting room and production facilities have an unpretentious, friendly atmosphere. They make 8 different wines, each with their own unique character. These include an Estate Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

One of their distinctive family wines is the Sadler Wells Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine won the gold medal at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair, and has received awards from several other wine competitions.
