Justin Vineyards owns 75 acres of vines which are planted between 1,100 and 1,700 feet above sea level. Fred Holloway is the winemaker and focuses on producing varietal wines and blends using Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay. Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Syrah are also grown on the estate. Irrigation is not used in the vineyards to stress the vines.
Justin’s flagship wine is their Isosceles red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The vineyards that produce the fruit for this wine are liberally pruned to minimize foliage. Less than 1.5 tons per acre are harvested from these vines. This wine is hard to get unless you are a member of their wine club.
The Justin 2000 Estate Reserve Chardonnay is made with grapes from their best Chardonnay vines. This vineyard is located relatively near the coast, and its acidic grapes make a refreshing wine.
