Iridesse is named after the ethereal, unexplained qualities of wine that has captivated mankind since the dawning of civilization. The winery specializes in producing lesser known varietals.

In 2000, Patrick and Genevieve Llerena established the Iridesse label. Patrick previously worked for Clos Pegase in Calistoga, Robert Biale Vineyards in Oak Knoll, Silverado Vineyards in Stags Leap, and Dominus Estate in Yountville. At Iridesse, Mr. Llerena produces only 25-200 cases of each of his wines.

The 2001 Anam Cara is Iridesse’s proprietary blend. This wine is made of 85% Sangiovese from Mount Veeder, 10% 108 year old Zinfandel from Calistoga, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon also from Calistoga. Anam Cara is Gaelic for, “soulmate.”

Iridesse’s other wines include the 2003 Roussanne, 2004 Zinfandel Rose, 2005 Lodi Sueno Vineyard Albarino, and 2001 Libelula Pinot Noir Library Select.
