Howell Mountain Vineyards
Howell Mountain Vineyards was established in 1988 by Mike Beatty, Joyce Sears, and Jerre Sears. Mike Beatty also owns Beatty Ranch Vineyards, and Joyce and Jerre Sears own Black Sears Vineyard.

In 1988, founders Jerre Sears and Joyce Black Sears, (owners of Black Sears Vineyard), and Mike Beatty, (owner of Beatty Ranch Vineyard), began producing wine under the Howell Mountain Vineyards label.
The Chow Family’s Rutherford Bench LLC bought the winery in 2005. Howell Mountain Vineyards produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel with grapes from Beatty Ranch Vineyard and Black Sears Vineyard.
Wines include the Black Sears Zinfandel, Beatty Ranch Zinfandel, Old Vine Zinfandel, Black Sears Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, Beatty Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, and MTV Cabernet Sauvignon.
Beatty Ranch Vineyard is grown at an elevation of 1,800 feet above sea level. It is planted with 18 acres of Zinfandel and 14 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon. Black Sears Vineyard is planted at 2,400 feet and sells grapes to several wineries including Howell Mountain Vineyards.
