Howell at the Moon recently hired consulting winemaker Sarah Gott. Gott’s resume includes working as head winemaker for Joseph Phelps and Quintessa Winery. Lik e many of Napa’s other top winemakers, she graduated from UC Davis with a degree in enology.
Timothy Milos is Howell at the Moon’s head winemaker. He has a M.S. in enology from UC Davis and a PhD from Cornell in plant diseases. The Pina Brothers manage the vineyard.
The 2004 Howell at the Moon was aged in 75% new French oak for 20 months. It has strong tannins and will improve with age over several years.
